In Jewish law, when a woman had a girl she was unclean for 2 weeks (versus only a few days if she had a boy). She was also unclean regularly during her period. Men only became unclean from things they touched or ate from without. Women experienced uncleanliness from the very nature of being a woman. Is this more aftermath from the apple?
